There was a talk on Cancer Awarness by NAT CARE Foundations -NGO for cancer control for open school Teachers. Theme was Let as all join to fight against Cancer.

A guest lecture was organized by sankalp for senior students. The Guest Ms. Mariam Joseph gave a lecture on "Different Avenue in Film Making" .

Sankalp Trust is organizing an International Seminar , to bring out the issues related to Inclusive Education for children with special needs and looking at Vocational Options.

The key speakers will be Ms.Angela Sisson , Ms. Wendy Fiddler , Mr.Ashok Kumar and Ms. Christine Morris from the U.K., supported by experienced Indian Faculty.

The coverage of subjects will be by means of lectures and workshops.

1. Curriculum adaptation or disability specific adjustments, which will work in the mainstream classrooms.
2. Practical and interactive session designed to impact participants in forming positive strategies towards inclusion.
3. Inclusion, what has been achieved in the U.K.
4. Catering for children with Special Education Needs ( SEN ) in the mainstream classes.
5. Preparation for post education and strengthening social life, U.K. perspective and Indian experience.

Conculded by panel discussions with speakers , teachers and parents on preparation for employment and vocational options.

Sankalp - The Open School works with the children who have problems in Learning. These children are unable to cope with academics. Their poor showing in school in the areas of reading , writing , spellings and mathematics affects their self esteem in addition to being termed "stupid " or "lazy".

Early intervention through remedial tutoring and a structured academic programme helps these children to attain academic success. Sankalp conducts a teacher training programme focussing on remedial tutoring for children with Specific Learning Difficulties.

The Certificate programme trains you to identify and work with children with Dyslexia.

The training starts October 6th 2011 and ends on November 18th 2011.
